04.23.07 - The New Dudes > Some Coming Soon Stuff > Endorsements Rule

First things first: I'm proud to announce two recent additions to Karate High School: Aaron McVeigh on
drums, and Geoff Garnett on guitar. We couldn't be happier with these two extremely talented
dudes, as their musicianship, professionalism, and ability to withstand the outrageously immature
sense of humor that comprises the rest of the band is top-notch. We just played our first two shows
with this lineup, and we've never sounded better. We'll have pictures of these fine gentlemen soon
enough, but until then, harass them on their MySpace pages and say hello to them on our upcoming
   tour dates.

   > We're playing some of the Warped Tour this summer starting July 1st. Exact dates will be posted
soon, but for anyone in the San Francisco Bay Area, we'll be playing at the Shoreline Amphitheatre
in Mountain View on July 1st. Be there.

   > Tour dates for all of America and Canada are being confirmed for most of summer/fall right now.
Except some of those dates to be up very soon. If you've seen us before, get ready to see us
again, and if you've never seen us, get off your ass and come show us love. Or cookies. You decide.

   > There will be an enormous "new record" update coming soon. The name of the record, track listing,
and some insight into the album will all be discussed. I can't wait for all of you to hear this thing.

And now, a few words from our sponsors:

   > KHS is now officially sponsored by Rockstar Energy Drink. We'd like to thank Rockstar for helping us
stay awake and alert on the blinding all-night drives between Lametown and Boringsville. I now have
so much caffeine in my system that if I died tonight, my blood could be used to power an entire
San Francisco suburb for 30 days. In other words, I rule.

   > KHS also exclusively uses Ernie Ball guitar and bass strings. Ernie Ball is an amazing company, and
we're super stoked to have an official endorsement. Yep, I said stoked. Deal.

   > Aaron was recently endorsed by Shine Drums. Check 'em out.

And if ya don't know, now ya know.

   Paul

03.03.07 - And Lo, A Crash Occurred > Home Sweet Home > We Need Eddie Van Halen

Although Mother Nature tried to destroy us in rural New England, we have returned home in one piece
after a grueling (yet still completely awesome) winter tour. Shows were cancelled due to extremely
bad weather, we crashed our van after hitting a patch of black ice during a midnight snowstorm, and
we slept in our snow-covered van when the thermometer read -20 degrees. That being said:

   > Thanks to everyone that came to see us during this last tour. The weather was so bad, it was
surprisingly great to see how far and through what conditions you all made it through to see a rock
show. Additionally, a huge apology is owed to the cities that we never made it due to terrifically bad
road conditions. We'll make it up to you the next time around.
   > KHS is officially looking for a new touring guitar player. See this ad for details. I won't steal Gabe's
thunder, but in a nutshell, he has decided that there are more important things in life than
spending months at time on the road being completely dirt-poor, begging for artistic validation in
sweaty rock clubs, and sleeping in a Van Down By The River. We wish him the best of luck at his
new job flipping burgers at Wendy's. Kidding. Sorta. Okay, kidding. I love you, dude. Save a spot at
Wendy's for me in about six months.
   > Speaking of guitars, I get enough requests for guitar tabs for the acoustic version of Good News and
Bad News on our Myspace page that I finally put something together for you. You can find the tabs
      for that song here. Enjoy.

Oh, and the next Karate High School record is coming along just fine, thank you. More to come.

   Paul

   01.16.07

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to 2007. Let's get to it, shall we?

   > In between watching Dexter on Showtime (if you missed the first season, you're missing out), and
reading massive amounts of anything written by Brian Michael Bendis, I've been using our time at
home to write the last of the songs that will become the next Karate High School record. I literally
haven't done a single other thing for weeks, other than write and record, then write and record
again. All of my friends think that I'm dead, with the exception of Ray who manages to convince me
to come out of my dungeon once every full moon and eat a Super Bird at Denny's to discuss how
the upcoming cancellation of The O.C. in February has crushed both of our hearts. Anyways, I think
all of you are going to absolutely fall in love with the new songs, as they completely surpass and
crush Arcade Rock in every way possible. Or, you're going to hate them. I can only promise you
that I'm putting every last piece of honesty, creativity, (and whatever else pretentious artists say
when they feel excited about their art) into these tunes. Whew! That self-indulgent rant sorta wore
me out, so let's move onto...
   > More Touring! Check out our website or our Myspace page for all of the upcoming show dates. We'll
be hitting just about everywhere in the United States, so c'mon out and say hello, willya? For the
beginning of February we'll be out on our own, but the end of February/early March has us touring
with Adair, Secret Lives of the Freemasons, and Inamere on the Punk The Clock tour. These shows
are going to be massive, and we expect anyone reading this to immediately drop any previous
obligations and plan on attending a show. Or two. Or else. :)
   > Is it possible that we're only two weeks into the new year and I've already broken all my
      resolutions? Yep.

And knowing is half the battle,

   Paul

09.27.06 - Time To Get Bossy > Battle of the Bands > Blade Owns Your Soul

It's been way too long since we last got together to talk about our lives. How are the kids? How is the
wife? Did you ever get that miniature white pony you always wanted? And no, I have no idea what I'm
talking about. On to the updates:

   > The "Get Bossy Tour" officially starts on October 1st in Missoula, Montana with Four Letter Lie, On
The Last Day, Secret Lives of the Freemasons, and Karate High School. Check the tour dates for
when we'll be in your town. For all our homeboys and homegirls in the San Francisco Bay Area,
come see us at Blake's in Berkeley on Friday, October 6th. We've been away from home for many
weeks, and we desperately need to see your beautiful faces in attendance.
   > Thanks to you guys and gals, KHS was one of the four winners of the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands
which means they're flying us down to LA on November 30th to play the Warped TOur afterparty at
the Key Club on the Sunset Strip. If you're local, come on by and see us rock L.A. If you're not
local, stay at home and watch reruns of the Golden Girls. Blaire rules! Oh, and KHS is on the Ernie
Ball compilation CD with bands such as Mayday Parade, Meriwether, and A Heartwell Ending. Get it
on iTunes or your local record store starting 11/26/06.

> KHS will be the featured band on Purevolume.com October 20th-23rd. Check it out and enjoy.
   > Did anyone else enjoy the Blade TV series on the Spike channel? It is absolutely my favorite guilty
pleasure of the summer. If you don't agree, you can ash yourself.

Get out of my dreams and into my car,

   Paul

08.02.06 - Fall Tour > Supersize Your Combo > Random Errata

Well, well, well. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for yet another update from your old pals. I finally
broke myself away from The First Season of the OC on DVD long enough to let all of you know what's
been happenin' (but first, does Seth ever get with Summer? Seriously, he needs to ditch her and just
get with Anna. Or Luke. Or hell, maybe even Donnie, that kid that Ryan worked with at the restaurant
that brought the gun to the party. But I digress.) Here's what's up:

   > One word: Tour! Check out our new fall tour dates to see when we'll be in our town. We should be
on the road for both September and October, which means we should be within a 30 hour drive of
everyone in America at some point. And seriously, what's a 30 hour drive? It's not like gas is
expensive or anything. Oh, wait...um...yeah, I'll shut up now. Come support us so we can pay the
$7.34 per gallon that they're charging these days.
   > We have a new exclusive shirt and CD combo available in our merch store. You can get a previously
unavailable black KHS logo shirt and a copy of Arcade Rock together for a measly price. So please,
instill faith in the human race and buy one for your grandma and grandpa. I mean, without them,
you wouldn't even be alive. It's the least you could do.
   > Select Hot Topic stores around the country now have a comp CD with KHS on it. Pick one up along
with some black nail polish, a new wallet chain, and some assorted Tim Burton memorabilia.
   > Oh, we need a name for our fall tour. If anyone has any ideas, discuss them here.

   Arevaderchi.

   Paul

06.30.06 - SF Warped Tour > Hot Topic Comp > Summer Stars Clothing

Hopefully everyone is enjoying the fantastic weather and making the most of the summer. Here is
what is going on with KHS:

> KHS will be playing the San Francisco date of the Warped Tour on July 8th. Come see us rock the
Ernie Ball stage, then stick around to see AFI, Yellowcard, SAOSIN, From First to Last, Helmet, and
      many more.

> We have a song on a compilation CD that will be available at select Hot Topic locations around the
country. Other bands on this CD include The Matches, MXPX, I Am the Avalanche, and more.
   > We've been sponsored by a rad clothing company called Summer Stars Clothing. Go check out their
clothes, and/or buy yourself a brass knuckle necklace. Sick.

> Plenty more to come. And oh, Superman was fantastic. My heart remains unbroken.

   Keep Fighting The Man,

   Paul

06.21.06 - Japanese CD Release > Interviews Galore > A Prayer For Superman

Good evening, sirs. Let's skip to these terrifically beautiful updates:

> Arcade Rock was recently released in Japan, and is available for purchase in stores around the
country and on Amazon. The Japanese release features two extra songs: an acoustic version of
Good News and Bad News and a demo from Arcade Rock aptly titled...wait for it...Japanese Bonus
Track. What a clever bunny I am. Also, the cover features some alternate artwork that turns our
favorite monster robot into a crushingly rad samurai warrior. Pick up a copy today, fool.
   > Metal Edge magazine has an interview with Karate High School in it's latest issue (Vol. 52 #8) on
newsstands everywhere now. Stroll into a finer magazine store near you and enjoy an amazingly
in-depth conversation about your favorite boys.
   > Check out yet another Karate High School interview in Europe's Kudos Magazine. You can download
Issue #3 in it's entirety online, and read about how I was terribly misquoted about the beauty of
farm animals in Middle America. Also, KHS will be on a Kudos Magazine CD Comp in the near future.
   > So, you should do the right thing and vote for us in the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands. Instead of
writing all the details here, you can read about the whole thing on our Myspace page. Vote for us
and our black hearts will be in your debt forever. Or, until Mishca Barton's character is killed off The
O.C. The intellectuals among you will read between the lines. ; )
   > We'll be adding a bunch of tour dates soon enough. This means that we'll be right outside your
house, knocking on your door at 3:00am asking for food and shelter very soon. Oh, you know you
      love it.

> I don't care if he looks gay. I'm stoked for the Superman movie, and if it sucks I'm going to have a
terribly broken heart. That is all.

Keep on rockin' in the free world,

   Paul

05.27.06 - Bad News for KHS Fans in Florida

It's true, I have bad news to report for anyone living in Florida. No, there are no hurricanes coming
your way. In addition, Karate High School isn't coming your way either. Due to circumstances beyond
our control, Karate High School will not be playing the four Florida dates on the Dog Fashion Disco,
Tubring, Look What I Did Tour. I would, however, like to take this opportunity to thank every single
person that has made this tour the amazing experience that it has been so far. Anyone in Florida is
fully encouraged to make the huge drive all the way to Nashville, TN to see us rock Elvis' home state.
A full tour journal, with a detailed account of everything that has happened thus far is on it's way.

Oh, and please remember that God Gave Rock N' Roll (To You).

   That is all.

   Paul

05.03.06 - Come See KHS On Tour, Fools!

Finally, our US tour has officially started. We're currently on the road with Tubring, Dog Fashion
Disco, and Look What I Did. Every band needs to be experienced live, so you should get off your butt
and come see us rock your faces off. Truthfully, I just wanted an excuse to use the phrase "rock your
faces off." It's way metal. But seriously, come see us play and don't be a stranger. Say hi to us, buy
us tacos, and offer us a place to sleep our amazingly beautiful (but sleepy and smelly) heads.

All the hot, sweaty tour action can be found here: KHS US Tour Info

See you all very soon, kids. Hide the Chihuahuas...or something.

With More Love Than You Can Possibly Imagine, Paul

   03.21.06 - Karate High School's Best Week Ever > A New Season

Well, the day has finally come. After waiting our entire lives for a moment like this, Arcade Rock is
finally released today. We want to thank everyone that has already pre-ordered the CD, and we hope
that everyone else swings by the record store to pick one up. In other news:

   > For those of you in California, we look forward to seeing all of you at our CD release show this
Saturday at Blake's in Berkeley. We'll be handing out free hugs to anyone that shows up and picks
up a CD. Ray has even volunteered to autograph every copy for free, regardless of the fact that the
value will be immediately lowered and you won't be able to sell it on eBay.
   > A huge thank you for all the email we received after "Twice Upon A Time (110%)" was played on the
Bay Area's Live105. If you want to hear more KHS on the radio, feel free to give them a buzz at
1-800-696-1053. Tell them you'll even send them free brownies. With ice cream. And fudge.

Again, we can't thank all of you enough for supporting Karate High School and helping us get our
music out there. Without each and every one of you, we'd still be flipping burgers at McDonalds,
hoping to move out of our mother's basement one day...wait, we're still doing that. Dare to dream!

Happy March 21st, everyone. Spring has officially begun. With love, Paul.

   03.16.06 - Street Team Opens > aXe Photo Contest > ThisAudio.net Interview

> The 2006 Karate High School street team is officially open for business. We'd love to have all of you
sign up to help out! Go here for all the details.
   > A while back, we held the "Get Your Picture in the Album" contest. The amazing part is that we
received hundreds and hundreds of submissions that blew our minds. The not-so-amazing part is
that *none* of the pictures are going to be in the album. The reason for this is due, of course,
to...*drum roll please* legal reasons! Since we never obtained official "Model Release Forms" for
each and every person that submitted a photo, we technically don't have permission to put your
picture into the album. Although I know that none of you would ever sue us in your wildest dreams
(since we have nothing anyways!), we couldn't convince the right people that this was 100%
impossible. With that said, the current score is The Man: 1. Karate High School: 0.

> There is a new interview by ThisAudio.net located here. Check that out and learn something new
      about your favorite band.

Other than that, we're officially five days away from the release of Arcade Rock. See ya!

03.03.06 - Free Download of Good News and Bad News! > Zero Magazine Interview

A few quick updates for y'all.

   > You can download a free MP3 of Good News and Bad News from AOL starting today. CLICK HERE

> Ray and I were interviewed by Zero Magazine, and you can read it online here: Karate High School,
Chopping Their Way Into Your Hearts
   > Thanks for all the kind email from people that heard "Scenes Rushing By" on Live105 last night.
      You all rule!

03.01.06 - Arcade Rock Presale > CD Release Show > New Merch > AOL Downloads

I'm going to skip the intro and jump right into the fun stuff:

   > Arcade Rock is officially available for presale starting today, March 1st through Smartpunk.com. Go
and place an order there, and you'll instantly become the coolest kid on the block. Also, you can
enter to win an iPod Nano by participating in a contest that we're holding on Smartpunk.com by
clicking here. That will take you to the Smartpunk.com contest page, and there is absolutely no
purchase necessary to enter. I know, I know, completely amazing. Do it! Albums will ship out to
lucky buyers everywhere on March 21st.
   > Our new merch is also available. Two new, completely fantastic shirts that will make you look like a
complete genius, and will instantly compel members of the opposite sex will ask you to the prom.
Also, they magically increase your intelligence quotient by 3.2 points, and people will be fooled into
thinking that you actually "support indie music." So what the hell are you waiting for?
   > Our CD release party is going to be at Blake's in Berkeley on March 25th. Normal Like You, Halfway,
Omissa, Unjust, and us. Get your tickets before they're gone, fools. Click here to buy advance
tickets from Ticketweb for $8. Warning for all you n00bs, this show will sell out, so you should come
see us before we become ridiculously famous and become too stuck up to hang out with "regular
folk." Also, I challenge anyone that comes to the show to a round of the Terminator Pinball machine
they have there. Anyone that beats me gets a free copy of Arcade Rock (*losses later deducted
from Ray's royalties). The shows page has more info on this shindig.

Two Super Cool Things We're Doing With AOL:

> First, you can finally download an MP3 of "Good News and Bad News" from Arcade Rock! This will be
available for download between March 3rd and March 31st. More info on this soon. Download the
song, throw it in your iPod, and tell all your friends to do the same.
   > And if that wasn't enough, AOL will be hosting an Online Listening Party where you'll be able to
stream Arcade Rock in it's entirety over the web. This will happen between March 20th and March
26th, and I'll post up the link to the location soon.

And If You Happen to Live in the San Francisco Bay Area:

> Bay Area radio station Live 105.3 will be playing a previously unheard song from Arcade Rock
Wednesday night (3/1) between 12 midnight and 1:00am. Okay, so that would technically mean
that it's being played super early on Thursday morning, but hell, you know what I mean.
Alternatively, (pun very much intended), you can stream the radio station from any computer at
www.live105.com if you don't live in the area.

And for the love of Zelda, that was the longest update ever. This is, without a doubt, the most terrific
time to be an outrageously enthusiastic Karate High School fan. And of course, we couldn't do any of
this without you. You all rock us to death. See you all at a show soon (unless we all die in a horrific
diesel truck accident on the way to our next practice).

   With love,

   Paul

02.16.06 - The Official Arcade Rock Release Date: March 21st
Well, it's that time of the month again, folks. You know, the time when I say that the album has been
pushed back again. Yay! To tell you the truth, we never made an album. However, I figure if we keep
dangling the carrot in front of everyone's faces and continually say, "no seriously! it's coming out
super soon, dude!" that our mothers will hang on to the false hope that one day we'll grow up to
actually be something and won't make us move out of their garages. Until then, here is the latest info
   for the kids:

   > The album will be officially released March 21st, 2006. No, really. Like, seriously. It will even be
available for pre-sale as well. More to come on that.
   > Yes, our new merch will also be available. The design is so rad that we expect meathead guys that
drive Camaros from the mid 80's will soon have new tattoos covering their front and backsides in no
      time.
   > Good News and Bad News and 88 Million Light Years Away have been added to AOL / XM radio. You
can check out the tunes by going to www.aolradio.com and then switching to channels New Rock First
or Punk U. Or if you have an XM radio, it's there too.
   > We have CD release shows and much more just around the bend. Be there.

   That's all, folks. Stay tooned.

01.12.06 - Karate High School Wins Taste of Chaos Contest!

KHS would like to thank every one of you that voted for us in the Taste of Chaos contest on Myspace.
Thanks to you, we won the opportunity to play the San Jose date of the TOC tour on March 28, 2006.
We're very excited about the show, and we can't thank all of you enough. We'll be playing with
Deftones, Thrice, Atreyu, Story of the Year, As I Lay Dying, Dredg, and more. For full details, see the
tour page. We love each and every one of you with our cold, black hearts, and we're forever in your
debt. And oh yeah, Happy New Year!

11.07.05 - A New Beginning > A True Story > Some Points of Interest
Welcome to the finally updated, soon-to-be outdated Karate High School website. So many fantastic
things have been happening lately, that I might as well simply dive in. In a move that has sparked
absolutely no controversy what-so-ever, our debut album entitled Arcade Rock is finally coming out,
but not until February 2006. I know that you have all been waiting with intense anticipation, because
the friendly "when is the CD coming out?" emails have morphed into, "you guys suck!" accusations
over the last few months. I don't blame you. It's simply taken way too long to get this out to you
kids, and I can only offer up the standard "it will be totally worth it, dude!" response that you've all
grown so fond of. On a serious note, I'm very proud of the album, and I think it serves as the best
thing any of us has even done in our entire lives. And yes, it's even better than the time Ray saved
those two young Italian children from a burning orphanage, while unintentionally leaving the
owner-turned-almost-hero to die in a raging firestorm. Although I never followed-up on that story, a
friend of a friend told me that they rebuilt over the remains of that building, and it's a Target
   Superstore now. But I digress.

Other News Items Sorta Worth Mentioning
   > After the album was recorded in bedrooms across the Bay Area, we enlisted some help to mix it.
Drew Mazurek (Linkin Park/Nothingface/Jawbox) at HighView Studios in Baltimore, Maryland was
kind enough to mix together roughly two million tracks of music, screams, and Casio sound effects
in about three days. God bless him.
   > We shipped Arcade Rock off to be Mastered at West West Side Music by Alan Douches (Fallout
      Boy/Brand New/The Chemical Brothers/Dillinger Escape Plan).
   > Jeff Gros is an amazing photographer, and he somehow put up with us long enough to take some
shots of us. Check out the Photos page for a few of them.
   > We're super excited about our partnership with Benchmark. Finally, we'll have all the KHS
shirts, lunch boxes, and bedsheets your little heart desires. More to come.
   > The Arcade Rock album art has been completed as well. See the Media page for a shot of the cover.
Ultra-amazing design by Slapshot Media. Our pixelated dreams have come true.

And that about covers it, folks. For anyone who has been along for the ride so far, we thank you from
the bottom of our black hearts for supporting us. You all mean the world to us. Stay gold.

And oh yeah, we're officially signed with Evo Records, a label distributed by Fontana/Universal
   Music Group.
